August 27, 2022 – Anchorage
After Kennicott, we backtracked a little to Anchorage, where we met up with our daughter and son-in-law who flew in from Mountain View, California. It is special to be able to meet up with your family while traveling and share a little of the trip together.

August 28, 2022 – Back to Seward
After connecting with our daughter and son-in-law in Anchroge, we came back down to Seward for a couple of nights before we go to Denali national park. Our goal was to hike up to the Harding Icefield, which is quite a difficult hike (3300 foot elevation gain and 10.5 miles), but entirely worth it. It feels like a Martian landscape up near the icefield where the ice has retreated but plants have not taken root yet. We were tired puppies when we got back, but it was pretty cool to see the Icefield.

Cheers, Chris
