August 6, 2022 – Fox, Alaska
We had a very bad camper day near Fairbanks, Alaska. I took the camper off the truck and made some serious errors in that process which caused damage to one of the jacks. Next the camper was on what turned out to be soft ground and it started to tip over, then both front jacks ripped out of their supports, and it crashed to the ground. We spent today arranging for help to get us out of this mess. The camper is now back on the truck. Damage was done but it is all fixable. We now have some road warts, considered a badge of honour amongst us overlanders. Thank goodness for the Alaskan people who dropped everything to help us.
August 9, 2022 – Fairbanks, Alaska
Having recovered from our camper accident we had a fun day in Fairbanks yesterday. We went to a great antique auto museum, then for a soak in Chena Hot Springs, and finally for a salmon bake and can can show at Pioneer Park.
